When is the best time of year to visit Port Douglas and what are the temperatures in Port Douglas?
Port Douglas has a year round tropical climate so any time is great to visit – the busiest months are the winter months of June to October, when the weather is warm and dry (around 21-25 degrees Celcius).

Summer months are called the Green Season with the tropical rains where everything is lush. In the hotter summer months it reaches around 30 – 35 degrees Celsius.
Our usual check in time is from 2:00 PM and up to 6:00 PM (or 4:00 PM during the weekend).
However if you intend to arrive earlier, please contact us ahead of schedule to arrange this as we may be able to have your apartment ready earlier than 2:00 PM.
Your room key will be stored in our Key Safe located in the public area opposite to reception (covered car park).
An envelope will wait for you on the reception door with a welcome letter in which you will find all instructions to get to your room safely, and a little map of Port Douglas to find the essentials after your arrival.
Our usual check out time is 10:00 AM, unless you have arranged a later time with Reception.
Departing guests are welcome to use Bay Villas’ facilities after check out, including guest lobby, free internet, swimming pool, shower and luggage storage until departure.
Bay Villas Resort has two saltwater swimming pools as well as one spa / jacuzzi.
One of our pool is heated during winter months while the second one remains heated by the sun, giving you a great choice of temperatures to enjoy for your personal taste.
We provide all bed linen and bath towels. All you need to bring is a beach towel to use at the pool or at the beach.
Beach/pool towels are also available for hire from reception for a small 5$ fee for the duration of your stay.
Free Wi-Fi is available in all apartments.
There’s also a computer with a broadband internet connection for guests to use (with a printer) and Free Wi-Fi access in the lobby.
Free Foxtel channels including Movies, Sports and Sky News are available in all apartments, with large LCD TVs and DVD players either already in the room or to get for free from the reception.
We are also offering DVD from our collection to enjoy for free in your room.
Free under cover car ports or open air car parks are available in number. There is no designated car parks coming with your apartment in Bay Villas, unless you have booked one of our 2 bedroom apartments located on the ground floor.
Bay Villas Resort Port Douglas is located in Davidson Street, just 600 metres from Macrossan Street, where there’s a bakery, convenience store & supermarket, restaurants, gymnasium, post office, banks, shops and food bars. It’s an easy 10 min walk to many restaurants, cafes, shops and the Sunday Markets in Anzac Park. There’s a regular local bus service for those days when you don’t feel like walking.
Our Tour Desk operates from Reception.
Management staff with their local knowledge can offer you some great advice on all tours that best suit your requirements, and there is no need to book them in advance so you can pick the best possible weather during your stay!
Most tours pick up at the front door of Bay Villas.
There are three floors – Ground, First and Second floor.
Bay Villas Resort has Studios, one and two bedroom apartments on each floor. Our three bedroom apartments are available on first and second floor only.
Bay Villas is perfectly convenient for single travellers, couples and for larger families.
The Studios can accommodate two (2) adults people and one (1) child only up to 3 years old, sleeping in a baby cot. Studios usually come with a Queen bed but we have a limited number of them with Twin beds.
The One bedroom apartments can accommodate three (3) adults with an extra rollaway bed, or two (2) adults and one (1) child, in a rollway bed or a baby cot. All our One bedroom apartments come with split King beds that can be changed into Twin beds.
The Two bedroom apartments can accommodate five (5) adults with an extra rollaway bed, or four (4) adults and one (1) child, in a rollway bed or a baby cot. All our Two bedroom apartments come with one Queen bed and Twin beds in the 2nd bedroom.
Our Three bedroom apartments are a combination of a Two bedroom apartment and a Studio.
All special bedding configuration, rollaways or baby cots are to be requested at the time of booking or up to 48h prior to arrival.
Apartments are serviced at mid stay if you are staying for six days or more. Arrangements can be made for more frequent servicing or towel changes at an additional cost.
We enjoy hosting wedding groups, family reunions and special occasion celebrations and offer a discount on group bookings. Please contact us directly for a quote.
Yes, all apartments (evry single bedrooms and Lounge areas) have their own air conditioning units.
Smoking is not permitted in your apartment. You may smoke outside, however please keep the doors closed to ensure the smell of smoke does not enter the accommodation.
Please also be considerate of your neighbours and ensure they are not disturbed by the smoke.
And don’t forget that smoking kills.
Sorry, pets are not allowed at Bay Villas Resort.
